Highway Thru Hell
Highway Thru Hell is a new Discovery Channel series that follows the men of Jamie Davis Heavy Rescue as they fight to keep the roads open between Hope, BC and the rest of Canada. These are some of the most economically important and most travelled routes in North America. They are also some of the most inhospitable — and Jamie Davis Heavy Rescue has been entrusted with keeping these unforgiving mountain highways safe during the winter season. When the highways shut down, it’s up to Jamie and his team to get the roads open as fast as possible.
The series is set in the mountains that surround Merritt, Princeton, Lytton and Hope, BC. The extreme mountain roads and highways are fraught with steep, icy terrain where Mother Nature reigns supreme. The-se arteries form a gauntlet that truckers must face in all weather conditions. A place of beauty and danger, and feared by many who must pass through the region, it is a place rarely seen by most Canadians.
This is a series about mountains, Mother Nature and the toughest men in the towing business being pushed to their breaking point. The stakes are high — lives, the economy and thousands of jobs depend on the highways staying open. And the last line of defense is Jamie Davis Heavy Rescue.
